Many of our clients abroad offer a relocation package to their new employees. This package often consists of a (temporary) stay in (shared) accommodation. Some clients also arrange a temporary stay in a hotel for you, so that you can settle down and start looking for your own place. Does your new employer abroad not offer a relocation package? Then we recommend that you start looking for accommodation in advance.
If you are going to work abroad for the first time, it is nice to understand in advance the cost of living abroad. The fixed costs you can expect, for example, are rent and utility costs. There are also the costs of public transport, a fitness subscription, health insurance, clothing, food and leisure costs such as cinema tickets and travel.
From your new employer abroad, you will receive an employment contract for a few months, six months, a year or an open-ended contract.
You will receive a contract from our client who is based abroad and therefore also pay tax in that country. Tax is automatically deducted from your salary.
Health insurance is the most important health insurance. It is therefore important to arrange this as soon as possible when you start working abroad. Sometimes, however, your new employer abroad will take care of your health insurance. Check in advance exactly what your employer will arrange for you.
