Head Chef and Hostesses/Drivers for Luxury Hotel Barge on the Canal du Midi, Southwest France

We are seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef and Hostess to join our team at a Luxury Hotel Barge on the picturesque Canal du Midi in Southwest France. This seasonal position runs from April 1st to October 30th, 2024.

 

HEAD CHEF:

Qualifications:

  • European Passport or valid French work visa
  • Valid driving license
  • Previous culinary experience with references

 

Pay:

  • Full-time position
  • Declared employment with full benefits in France
  • Room and board included, along with tips

 

Duties: As the Head Chef, you will have the sole responsibility for crafting daily lunches and dinners, consisting of 3-4 courses, for up to 10 passengers and 5 crew members. We are looking for an individual with a strong technical knowledge and a diverse repertoire in Southern French and Mediterranean cuisine. Excellent presentation skills and the ability to adapt menus as necessary are crucial. You will also be responsible for all aspects of shopping and sourcing high-quality ingredients, as well as maintaining kitchen and food hygiene standards.

Qualifications Needed:

  • EU passport or valid French work visa
  • Valid driving license
  • Fluent in English

 

Duties: As a crucial part of our onboard team, responsibilities include providing friendly and dynamic interaction with guests, maintaining a high standard of housekeeping, delivering excellent passenger meal service, and driving passengers in company minibuses. Additional duties involve organizing weekly housekeeping shopping lists and stock, as well as managing the treatment and inventory of onboard laundry and linens.
