We run a thriving hotel business out of a privately owned manor house in the French Alps. We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our team for the coming winter season.
We have 10 beautiful bedrooms and one suite that sleep 24 – 30 guests and are situated in the heart of Morzine in the Haute Savoie region of France. Many of our guests return year after year to experience skiing in the Portes du Soleil, which is one of the world’s largest international ski areas with over 650 kilometers of piste.
Core responsibilities
- Following the Chef de Cuisine’s instructions, help to prepare the daily menu
- Create your staff and children’s menus for the season ahead
- Establish your inventory of ingredients.
- You will be responsible for keeping inventory of and ordering your ingredients
- Cook a healthy meal for the hotel staff to be served early evening
- Cater for an earlier children’s supper menu if required
- Ensure the kitchen and storerooms are kept to a very high level of cleanliness and hygiene following HACCP guidelines
- Be focused on good stock management and low food wastage
- Be well presented and look professional at all times
- You will need to work well in a team
