As a Hotel Barge Crew Member, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our vessel as it navigates the picturesque inland waterways of central and eastern France. Working closely with the Pilot, you will assist in navigation, including the passage through locks and handling ropes with care and precision. Maintaining the barge’s exterior will also be part of your responsibilities, which include cleaning, sanding, and painting to keep the vessel in pristine condition. Light mechanical tasks will occasionally be required to support the proper functioning of the barge’s systems.
In addition to these operational duties, you will contribute to creating a welcoming environment for guests by participating in evening bar service and kitchen clean-up as part of a rotational schedule with other crew members. You will also ensure that the bicycles provided for client use are well-maintained and ready for exploration.
This role requires a hands-on approach and a team-oriented mindset. While prior experience is advantageous, we welcome candidates who are eager to learn and adaptable. Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude toward customer service are essential. Basic mechanical or maintenance abilities are an asset.
