Junior Business Analyst – Product Analytics & Amplitude | Fully Remote

Overview

We’re looking for an English-speaking Junior Business Analyst with a strong interest in Product Analytics and hands-on experience with Amplitude to join a digital product team on a temporary cover contract.

This is a fully remote role where you’ll support a product team by helping turn product data into clear insights, improving the use of Amplitude and supporting day-to-day product delivery activities.

Your main focus will be working with Amplitude: reviewing event tracking, building useful funnels, cohorts and dashboards, and helping the team understand user behaviour in order to make better product decisions.

You’ll also support the Product Owner / product team with practical Business Analyst tasks such as backlog organisation, user stories, requirements, documentation and follow-ups.

This role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years of experience who is analytical, organised, curious and comfortable working with web applications, product data and internal teams.

What you’ll do

  • Support the improvement and day-to-day use of Amplitude across product teams.
  • Review, clean up and extend event tracking where needed.
  • Build and maintain funnels, cohorts, retention views and dashboards.
  • Analyse product data and user behaviour to identify patterns, friction points and improvement opportunities.
  • Turn analytics findings into clear insights that help the team prioritise next steps.
  • Support product delivery by helping maintain the backlog, user stories, requirements and documentation.
  • Keep product documentation up to date in Jira and Confluence.
  • Coordinate follow-ups, dependencies and open topics with internal teams.
  • Work closely with product, analytics, engineering and other internal stakeholders.
  • Help the team understand the user journey and translate data into practical actions.

What you need

  • Fluent English, written and spoken.
  • 1–2 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Junior Product Owner, UX/Product Analyst or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with Amplitude, including funnels, cohorts, dashboards, retention or event tracking.
  • Experience working with web applications or digital products.
  • Good understanding of user journeys, product funnels and digital user behaviour.
  • Ability to analyse data, organise information and turn it into useful insights.
  • Ability to translate business or product needs into clear, actionable requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Comfortable working with product, analytics and technical teams.
  • Structured, autonomous, pragmatic and eager to learn.

Nice to have

  • SQL knowledge or comfort working directly with product/event data.
  • Familiarity with GA4.
  • Previous exposure to agile product teams.
  • Experience in complex or regulated environments.
  • Background working closely with engineering or technical teams.
  • Basic understanding of UX/UI principles, user flows or wireframes.

Who you’ll work with

You’ll work closely with the product team based in Portugal and collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, including:

  • Product Management
  • Data & Analytics
  • Software Engineering
  • UX/UI
  • Project Management
  • Architecture, Security, Legal & Compliance where needed

What we offer

  • Temporary cover contract to support the team during a team member’s leave, with the possibility of future continuation depending on business needs.
  • Fully remote setup — work from anywhere.
  • Full-time role, with 30–35 hours/week considered for the right candidate.
  • Opportunity to work with an international digital product team.
  • Exposure to product analytics, Amplitude implementation and product decision-making.
  • Collaboration with product, data and technology teams.
  • A structured environment where analytical thinking, organisation and autonomy are highly valued.
