Host / Hostess Duties.
- Cleaning and daily servicing of the three guest cabins and bathrooms
- Cleaning of the public areas
- Assisting with preparation and plating of meals
- Serving meals and drinks to guests onboard
- Laundry and ironing
Requirements: Good spoken English and customer service experience
Deckhand/ Matelot duties:
- Assisting the Captain with navigation of the barge (locks, mooring etc)
- Cleaning of the exterior of the barge on a daily basis
- Painting and maintenance of the barge
- Assisting needed when needed with the service of food and beverages
Requirements: Previous experience and Livret de Service preferred. If not qualified then good spoken French is required to complete the mandatory 3 day training course. Good spoken English required to communicate with the Captain and guests.
Driver / Tour Guide duties:
- Driving 8 seater Ford Tourneo van
- Driving guests for half day excursions and acting as tour guide (eg. village walking tour or visit to historic building) as required
- Driving the guests between the barge and the restaurant for evening meals
- Doing shopping and other errands as required
- Responsibility for daily cleanliness, overall presentation and maintenance of the vehicle
Requirements: Have held a full valid EU class B licence for a minimum of 3 years. Fluent French speaker preferred.
All roles will start 15 May and run until 15 October.
As some accommodation is a shared cabin with bunk beds preference will be given to those who apply as a Couple or Two Friends.
EU passport or French Carte de Sejour required.
