Our estate in Slovenia consists of 5 guesthouses, a restaurant/bar and a 5.5 hectare garden with swimming pool and vegetable garden. Every summer (mostly Dutch) families and peace seekers settle down here to celebrate their vacations. We are looking for 4 all-round workers with an eye for detail to make season 2025 a success. We strongly prefer 2 couples. Would you like to get away from it all for a few months? Away from the hustle and bustle, away from the asphalt, away from the daily routines? Our estate in Bohor
Estate na Skaluc covers 56,000 m2, most of which is forest and meadow. On the inhabited part there are a number of buildings in which the guesthouses and restaurant are located. The panoramic garden faces south and the showpiece here is the swimming pool. The estate is located in a beautiful and rural region in southeastern Slovenia. It is an authentic region that sees very few tourists. The climate is a lot sunnier than in the Netherlands. You live outside all day here.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a morning team and an evening team, each consisting of 2 driven individuals who work well together. It is a big advantage if both teams can replace each other / swap shifts.
The morning team
This team consists of 2 people in which 1 person takes care of breakfast and guests, while the other takes care of daily maintenance work and cleaning. This second task can vary greatly in content from day to day depending on how many check-outs there are.
Tasks
- Daily from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Telephone accessibility
- Start up cash register
- Setting up and clearing the breakfast buffet
- Social function to guests (good morning, sleep well?)
- Checking out guests
- Passing bread orders for the next day to the baker
- Taking note of groceries for breakfast
- Taking stock of who is having dinner
- Cleaning the swimming pool
- Checking the pool water (inside and outside)
- Cleaning the apartments
- Handling laundry
- Small maintenance
- Mowing the grass (+/- every 5 days, depending on the weather)
- Keeping the vegetable garden in order
- Animal care (chickens, mouflons)
- Pruning
- Harvesting fruit
- One-time assistance with evening service (2 evenings in June)
Requirements
- Socially adept & spontaneous to guests
- An eye for detail, especially in terms of hygiene
- Green fingers
- Knowledge of garden machinery & equipment
- Some handyman skills
- Own car
- Self-employed registration
- EU passport
- Available from June 1 – September 30, 2025
- Available one week before (installation, introduction)
What we offer.
- A neat apartment in the area with own kitchen and bathroom, incl energy consumption and internet
- Daily breakfast on arrival & a hot lunch at the end of the working day
- Working in a green environment, in a friendly team and with a lot of own responsibility
- Assistance with registration as a self-employed seasonal worker in Slovenia
- 20 duty-free days, to be shared by mutual agreement according to the number of guests (especially in June & September)
- A fixed and billable fee of € 750.00 per person per month
The evening team
This team consists of 2 people in which 1 person takes care of the bar & groceries, supplemented by cleaning duties & laundry, while the other person is the kitchen prince(s) and handles daily employee lunch and guest dinner. We operate on a 5-day menu cycle during the peak season.
Duties
- Daily from 13:30 – 22:00
- Telephone accessibility
- Contact with guests arriving the next day
- Replenishing the bar
- Serving afternoon orders (sandwich, coffee, glass of wine)
- Taking note of groceries
- Placing, taking and clearing grocery orders
- Driving to store if necessary
- Cleaning the apartments
- Handling laundry
- Serving dinners & drinks
- Checking in guests
- Social function to guests (how was your day?)
- Garbage disposal
- Harvesting vegetable garden (and minor maintenance)
- Preparing employee lunches
- Mise-en-place dinner
- Dinner preparation
- Cleaning up after dinner (and dishes)
- Closing cash register
Requirements
- Socially adept & spontaneous bartender/woman
- An eye for detail, especially in terms of hygiene
- Handy cook(-kin) with tidy working methods
- Proven hospitality experience (with references)
- Own car
- Self-employed registration
- EU passport
- Available from June 1 – September 30, 2025
- Present one week before (install, get acquainted)
