With nearly 170 years of history, Norwegian Guide Service has a team of over 50 guides dedicated to creating meaningful and memorable experiences for guests visiting Bergen and Western Norway.
Our philosophy is simple: when our guides thrive, our guests do too. We invest in our team’s development, ensuring that every guide becomes a trusted leader, engaging storyteller, proud ambassador of Bergen and a supportive team member.
We deliver over 5,500 assignments every year, collaborating with over 90% of the cruise calls in Norway’s busiest cruise destination—Bergen and the surrounding region.
We do not aim to be the best; we aim to become better every day.

No experience? No problem—you can still be an amazing guide! Most of our guides started their journey with us. Our certification and company training are designed to make you feel confident, and we want all our guides to feel fully equipped and prepared to perform their assignments successfully.
Absolutely! While knowing Norwegian is helpful for deeper research and understanding of the destination, communication with the office and colleagues will be in English. English is also the most requested language for tours.
No two days are the same as a Tour Guide! One day, you might start early for a full day of adventures; the next, you could enjoy a lighter schedule with just a few hours of work. Imagine welcoming cruise guests and taking them up Bergen’s mountains on a funicular ride, or picking up travelers from their hotel for a scenic fjord drive. Our guides receive detailed tour information the day before, so you’re always prepared for what’s ahead!
