About the Company:
Global Pre-Meds is a super-specialist brand: We provide unique international experiences for high school and university students who want to stand out from the crowd on their journeys to medical and nursing school.
On our programs in the Caribbean, Africa and Asia, our students shadow doctors on the hospital front line, learn about global health, participate in voluntary service projects and have the adventure of a lifetime. They live together in our own exclusive guesthouses, supported around the clock by our passionately dedicated teams.
Ours is primarily an educational brand, but one that reaches into the realms of adventure travel, self-development and premium hospitality. The experience of Covid-19 has made the experience we offer future health professionals more important than ever.
Joining a Global Pre-Meds program is a big deal for our students; it’s a significant investment for them both in cost and personal development. It’s our duty to make sure they are safe, supported, and happy at all times, as well as getting as much educational value out of the experience as possible.
As a Student Coordinator, you will be on the front line providing support. Living in the Global Pre-Meds house alongside the students, you will be a counsellor, travel guide, friend and teacher all rolled into one.
About the job:
As a Student Coordinator, you will be expected to get involved with all aspects of the program, which will include:
- Communicating our COVID-19 health and safety protocols;
- Ensuring adherence to these protocols, including leading by example;
- Organising games and activities at our guesthouse;
- Chaperoning students to the beach and on our weekend sailing trip;
- Liaising with the doctors who mentor our students;
- Airport transfers and coordinating arrival and departure days;
- Being a friend to all students and giving them the support they need.
Although you will have specific duties and responsibilities, the nature of the role means you will also be responding to different situations as they arise.
It’s worth noting that this role is a live-in role so you will not have set working hours. Your time off will change from week to week and will depend on the requirements of the students.
Above all else, we are looking for someone who will truly care about our students and so will go above and beyond to make sure they have the time of their lives.
You will have some experience in customer service and you may have previously held a similar position such as being a Camp Counsellor.
You will be confident communicator with a natural flair for customer service.
You will be required to undertake your own country equivalent of a Criminal Records check which we will organise and pay for. You will also be required to provide two positive references, one of which must be from an employer.
You must be available to travel to the Dominican Republic on 22 May 2021 and work for the entire season which ends on 13th September 2021.
Salary & Benefits:
You will receive a competitive salary, and flights, accommodation, and travel insurance are included.
Please submit the application form via the “Apply Now” button. We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis so if you’d like to be considered we suggest you apply as soon as possible. Interviews will be conducted via video
