Join Athos du Midi for a summer as a Host/Hostess or Head Chef while cruising the Canal du Midi in France!
Athos is a luxury hotel barge cruising the Canal du Midi in South West France. We are a small family-run company, and run weekly cruises. Our crew is fun and hardworking!
We are looking for candidates for the positions of:
Host/Hostess-Drivers
You will be taking care of all interior housekeeping and presentation of the barge, such as daily cleaning of passenger cabins. Furthermore, you will be setting/clearing tables, serving meals to the passengers while communicating with the Head Chef. Serving wines and cheeses and interacting regularly with clients is also part of your responsibilities. Moreover, you will be working in rota with the other crew and you alternate 1 day of driving, accompanying passengers on visits following the Tour Guide, and 1 day of housekeeping. *Please note: A driver’s license is required.
Head Chef
As a Head Chef you are responsible for designing menus and canapés: gourmet lunches and elegant 4-course dinners onboard, organising supplies and shopping and taking care of kitchen hygiene. Even though you will be cooking alone you will work closely with the Host/Hostess and the Manager for shopping/supplies.
The roles run from April until November so you will need to be available to work throughout this period. You need to have an EU Passport and/or the right to work in France.
Requirements:
- A high level of spoken English
- You have a Driver’s license
- You are an EU Passport Holder or have a work visa
What you receive:
- A full time seasonal contract
- You get paid monthly in Euros, fully declared
- Room & Board + uniform
