Our client Tregarthen’s Hotel on the Isles of Scilly is looking for an experienced Head Chef, Sous Chef & Kitchen Porter to join them when the new season starts in March 2022.

This is an exciting time to join the Tregarthen team. Due to extensive renovations, they will open with a modern, open-plan restaurant, updated high-quality accommodation, and a fresh and exciting new look. In addition, the Hotel is ideally located on St Mary’s on the Isles of Scilly and enjoys stunning views of the islands of Tresco, Bryher, Samson and St Martin’s.

You need to be available to work from January/early February 2022 until the end of the season which is mid-October 2022. Applicants need to have pre-settled status, settled status or an existing work permit to work in the UK. You will need to be able to demonstrate that you are eligible to work in the UK.

HEAD CHEF

As Head Chef you will have experience in leading a team in a busy professional kitchen, be able to work well under pressure and be a passionate leader with a love of good quality food.

The successful candidate must be capable of:

  • Creating new dishes and menu selections
  • Preparing rotas
  • Effectively managing stock control
  • Keeping tight control of profit margins.

SOUS CHEF

As Sous Chef you will be responsible for the service delivery and kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef.

The right candidate must:

  • Have experience at the Sous Chef level.
  • Be able to handle the pressure of a busy kitchen and maintain standards.
  • Be clean and tidy in appearance.
  • Have good time management.
  • Be a hard-working team player who is willing to share their knowledge.

KITCHEN PORTER

The right candidate must:

  • Be a hard-working team player who can handle the pressure of a busy hotel kitchen.
  • Take pride in making sure the kitchen is clean, safe and tidy at all times.
  • Have previous experience of working in a professional kitchen environment.
