Each summer Serenity Barge offers multi-night cruises along the canals and rivers of the Champagne region and we are looking for two crew members to help us deliver an exceptional experience to our guests.
*IMPORTANT* – the accommodation offered is a shared room. We would prefer a couple or two friends. If you are applying as an individual you must be prepared to share a room with another crew member.
DRIVER ROLE: Using our 9 seater mini-van, the driver’s daily tasks include; relocating the vehicle whilst the barge is cruising, driving guests on daily excursions & to dinner at local restaurants and being responsible for the presentation/maintenance of the vehicle. Some weeks you will also be required to collect and drop off guests in central Paris at the beginning and end of their cruise.
HOST/HOSTESS ROLE: You’ll be responsible for taking care of the interior of the barge including cleaning passenger cabins, guest lounge and kitchen. Assistance with lunch preparation and service. Bar service and customer service as required.
All crew members are expected to work as a team and contribute to the basic functioning of the cruise (eg. serving drinks, washing up, assisting with boat presentation, etc) As a team we like to play to our individual strengths, so for example if the driver wants to lead some guided tours or the host/hostess enjoys food preparation these is scope to develop these roles to give guests the best experience.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- EU Passport or Work Permit holder for France
- The Driver must have held a full, valid driver’s licence for at least 5 years (EU or International), and it would be preferable if both of you have a driving licence.
- Ideally, you’ll have previous hospitality experience, be energetic, personable and committed to delivering the best possible experience for our guests. Fluency in English is essential for both roles.
WHAT DO YOU GET FROM US
- Salary will be paid weekly in euros, tips are shared equally between four crewmembers.
- Accommodation is provided throughout the season – an ensuite crew cabin for 2 people.
