A beautiful Island which is home to a seal colony, puffins, seabirds, the best beaches in the British Isles, great caves to explore, and a great Island community. We are also only 20 minutes away from Guernsey, an
Island with 60,000 inhabitants, and all the benefits of a major UK town. As an employee of Herm Island, you will receive free travel to and from Guernsey, but it is always good to get back to the peace of Herm.

Many of our staff return year after year, and so you will find that somesenior roles are taken by those who have started a few seasons ago, andhave grown into the responsibility of the role. This also creates a good
foundation for seasonal staff in their first season on Herm, as there is plenty of support and willingness to help from those who have been here before.

If you are about to embark on a working visa trip around Europe, or if you simply want to work away from home on a sun drenched paradise Island which is less than an hour away from the UK, but only 16 miles away from France, then Herm Island may well be the ideal location.

The White House Hotel is a country House Hotel with 40 bedrooms, and two restaurants, and was voted \"Most Excellent Coastal Hotel 2005\" by Condé Nast Johansens. The conservatory restaurant has one rosette and serves up to 100 covers per evening, and the ship bar and restaurant is a more informal brasserie style restaurant. Locally caught Seafood and shellfish are prevalent in both restaurants.

The Mermaid Tavern is an informal bar, restaurant with a very busy outside dining area, along with a function area featuring a barbeque and Hog Roast. The Black Rock Grill restaurant is also very popular with visitors to the Island.

The gift shops are well stocked with many holiday favourites, toys, gifts and souvenirs, along with fashionable branded clothing and accessories.

Herm's Beach Cafes serve snacks, souvenirs and hot and cold drinks to our guests that enjoy the beautiful beaches of Belvoir Bay and Shell beach

The Campsite is looking for a campsite warden and an assistant campsite warden working on our family campsite.

We employ 90 seasonal staff each year, across the Island businesses. All positions are live in, have good salary structures, and enjoy an end of season bonus. Substantial tip funds in both the Mermaid Tavern and White House Hotel are shared equally with all staff at the end of the season.

All members of staff also receive a boat pass enabling free passage to Guernsey on the regular 20 minute boat trip (There are 8 return journeys per day in the height of the season).

The Hotel opens on the 30th March for 27 weeks. Positions in all the departments begin at this time, although many roles are also available for shorter periods, the shortest being 8 weeks from the beginning of July
until the end of August.
