Malta does not apply any restrictions on the access to its labour market by citizens of other EEA countries
New EU Members (Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia) are also welcome to live and work in Malta on the same basis as nationals of existing
EU Members.

Nationals of certain countries can visit Malta for up to three
months without a visa but will need to be granted a work permit to take up
employment.
The following nationalities may visit Malta without a visa
for up to 3 months.

Darussalam, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark,

to visit Malta

Working Holiday
Visas: Citizens
of Australia aged between 18 and 25 years can apply for a working holiday multiple
entry visa, valid for a period of one year from date of issue, under reciprocal
arrangements agreed upon by the government of Malta and that of Australia.
In
exceptional circumstances, the limitation of age could be extended up to 30 years.
The
scope of the agreement is to provide wider opportunities for citizens, particularly
the youth, of Malta and Australia to appreciate the culture and general way of
life of the other for the purpose of promoting mutual understanding between the
respective countries.
