Tresco Estate operates as luxurious holiday resort comprising of the
Island Hotel, public house The New Inn, Abbey Garden with café and
visitor centre, General Stores, Gallery and Hell Bay on Bryher. Tresco
also has a beachfront development opening in February 2008, comprising
of 12 oceanfront houses, restaurant, bar, gym and leisure facilities.
We have now commenced our 2008 season and only have the following

Maintenance Engineer
Permanent Vacancy - £14,500 - £16,500pa
Accommodation provided.
Hell Bay Hotel is situated on the Island of Bryher as part of the exclusive holiday
resort and business of Tresco Estate.
The Hotel requires an experienced multi-talented, multi-skilled handyman
to undertake all maintenance duties throughout the establishment including electrical
and plumbing repairs, general painting and decorating and basic building/
structural repairs. Applicant will also be responsible for the maintenance of
the sewerage treatment plant including the jetting and
unblocking of all drains. Will also be required to assist with the
transportation of guests and freight to and from the hotel upon arrival
and to supervise a small team of porters, gardeners and other outdoor taff.
Applicant must have a full clean driving license and desirably a fork-lift ticket
together with a good understanding of domestic electrical appliances - ideally
holding 16th edition qualification. Candidates must also have basic knowledge
of vehicle maintenance, farm machinery, hi-ab, health & safety,
fire-fighting quipment, alarm systems and to undertake the responsibility of
risk assessments.
Hell Bay is Bryher's only hotel with 25 suites holding Red Stars,
2 AA Rosettes and was the winner of the Small Hotel of the Year
award.
Tresco Estate Urgently Require Chefs particlaulrly CDP's.Immediate start available
Our Hotels and Public House will require Chef de Partie/ demi Chef
de partie and Sous chefs to work in busy kitchen. All applicants
must have either NVQ1 & 2 & or City and Guilds qualifications
and relevant experience in accordance with the position ie. 1 to
3 years in high quality establishment and the ability to work well
under pressure, as part of team and independently. Health and Safety
Certificate will be an advantage.
Bar Supervisor – Seasonal
Required to supervise the daily running of the bar area and staff.
Duties will be to take orders and serve beverages, operate tills,
change barrels and undertake responsibility of stock rotation.
Head waiting – Seasonal
General duties will include waiting on tables, deputising for the
Food and Beverage Manager in respect of all food and beverage service,
staff management and training.
Waiting/ Bar Staff – Seasonal
Our Hotels, Public House and Flying Boat Club will require waiting
and bar staff to work as part of a team in the Restaurant/ bar
serving drinks, breakfast, morning coffees, lunches, afternoon
teas and dinner.
Housekeepers – Seasonal
Required to assist the head housekeeper in the cleaning of guest
rooms and general areas of the hotel. Also to assist in the service
of
afternoon teas and lounge tray service in the evening.
Porter/ General Assistant – Seasonal
Required to carry guest’s luggage to and from the hotel reception,
transport guests from the heliport/ quay or vice versa if required,
clean windows, assist housekeeping with moving beds, linen etc.
Receptionist/ Administrator – Seasonal
Required to assist the Hotel administrators, duties will include
checking guests in and out, handling mail, producing guests bills,
posting
charges, reconciling the day’s business, taking bookings and
sending confirmations. Required to assist guests with any enquiries
or problems on daily basis. Must be aged 21 plus have polite manner,
smart appearance be an excellent communicator, good communication
skills, enthusiastic and flexible
Refuse/ Recycling Collector – Seasonal
The Estate requires a mature applicant to cover the daily collection
and disposal of residential refuse from cottages and accommodation
around the Island also responsible for collection of recyclable
waste. A clean current driving license is essential.
Retail Assistant – Seasonal
Newly developed exclusive retail food shop and delicatessen ‘Tresco
Stores’ require assistants to serve customers, price stock, fill
shelves and to keep store clean and tidy.
Café/ Retail Assistant – Seasonal
Garden Café/ Shop for Abbey Garden require assistants covering
all aspects of the operation including taking orders, making coffees,
handling cash, cheques and credit card payments, cleaning tables, supervision
of and administration of ticket sales.
Kitchen porter – Seasonal
Our Hotels, Public House and Garden café all require a kitchen
assistant to help with the daily preparation of fresh foods, checking
in and storing of foods and products and to keep the kitchen and all
food preparing areas hygienically clean and tidy.
