Neilson Are Now Taking Applications For Windsurf And Dinghy Instructors To Work In Kenya For A 12 Month Contract. Also Looking For Watersports Instructors For The End Of The Summer Season 2010.

Neilson is dedicated to providing active holidays, in the winter with our ski programme, in the summer and in our year round resorts with our sailing, windsurfing, mountain biking, diving and walking holidays. This is a great opportunity to further your skills within a fantastic and unique environment that offers a huge range of exhilarating activities. We are looking for warm, enthusiastic and approachable individuals who demonstrate a desire to get involved, further their skills, and share their enthusiasm and expertise with our customers. Most positions support our Beachplus Resorts that are based in Greece and Turkey. Our summer season runs from March/April through to November. We require staff to be available for the duration of these dates, however we do have a limited number of High Season positions that run for a minimum of 10 weeks during July/August/September.

Yacht Trainer: As a Yacht Trainer you will be responsible for the delivery of sailing instruction and providing excellent customer care to our Neilson guests to ensure the success of their holiday.

Working as part of a team you will teach sailing to guests of all ages and abilities following the RYA syllabus and Neilson programme, pro-actively provide assistance to ensure all guests obtain appropriate developmental skills, and assist in providing a safe and enjoyable working environment. You will need to organise and host social events, deliver briefings and interact with guests throughout their holiday.

To be considered for this role you will need to have a VHF licence, be first aid qualified and educated to GCSE standard. You will need previous customer service experience and professional knowledge relevant to instructing on yachts. Previous experience within the travel industry, additional water-sports skills or qualifications, and A RYA Keelboat instructor qualification would be advantageous.

You will need to have a can do attitude with a hand’s on approach to your work as you may be required to assist in other duties within the flotilla programme. You will need to be an excellent communicator; highly self motivated and able to work on your own initiative. You will also need to be an excellent team player but with the ability to work independently.

If you wish to apply for this role please consider that you will be required to work long and unsociable hours in a hot climate. You also need to be prepared to move between resorts to meet operational needs.

Watersports Instructors: We recruit a wide range of qualified Watersports Instructors ranging from Windsurf, Dinghy and Kitesurf Instructors through to Waterski, Wakeboard and Paddlesport Instructors. It will be your responsibility to deliver safe and enjoyable instruction following the guidelines of the relevant governing body. We are looking for people with passion and commitment, and the ability to communicate effectively and enthusiastically with a huge range of people.

Fitness Instructor: An active holiday wouldn’t be complete without a dedicated fitness professional in each of the Neilson Beachplus resorts. As a sociable and energetic individual you will need to work independently to organise and deliver a weekly fitness programme. Your daily classes will need to be tailored specifically around the Neilson guests and their holiday. Drawing on your skills, experience, and training to provide fun and varied classes which could range from legs, bums and tums through to kayak safari and sunset stretch. You will be required to create your sessions around the facilities and equipment available to you in the overseas resort environment.

Tennis Coach: If you are a qualified Tennis Coach what better way to spend your summer than out on court everyday in the sunshine? As a Neilson Tennis Coach you need to be confident to work alone or in a small team to organise and deliver a weekly tennis programme, which caters for all guest ages and abilities, incorporating both coaching and free play sessions. The daily coaching sessions will allow you to impart you knowledge and enthusiasm for the game with the guests ending the week with you organising an informal and sociable tennis tournament.

Bike Guide: Mountain Biking plays a massive part of a typical Neilson holiday so our dedicated qualified Mountain Bike Guides have a ‘steep’ task to deliver a varied, versatile and challenging programme. It will be your job to organise and run the weekly biking programme to cater for complete novices who might just want to stretch their legs on an evening, through to hardcore riders who have come on a biking specific holiday.

Children’s Club Staff Qualified (Level 3) & Unqualified: For all of our childcare positions we are looking for employees who have a warm and genuine personality and really care about delivering only the highest customer care levels to the children and their parents/guardians. The ideal Children's Club Staff candidates will be qualified, experienced and flexible in their approach to work. Qualifications and relevant experience is essential for the supervisory role.

Yacht Engineers: You and the engineering team could be responsible for up to a fleet of 60 boats. At any one time you will be the sole engineer on a flotilla of up to 10 boats where your duties will vary depending on the nature of the problem. A good engineer will be able to perceive problems with pro-active maintenance and spares ordering. Working knowledge of marine diesel engines is preferred but not essential as is some sailing experience. There are many attributes to maintaining a yacht such as plumbing, rigging and electrics where you will be primary source of knowledge in resort. You will also need a valid 1st Aid certificate.

Yacht Skippers: As a Skipper you will be responsible for running all of the delivery aspects of a guests holiday afloat. At any one time you may be responsible for your small lead crew team (mate & engineer) and up to 80 guests on 10 of our yachts. You will be qualified according to the RYA yachting scheme and have plenty of experience running or being part of a large flotilla. A skipper should be well presented and able to exercise patience with the whole team and our guests. You will mostly be dealing with beginners or novices when teaching this sport.

Waiting Positions: You will be providing a service to the required operation standards for all meal times in buffet and A la Carte restaurant styles. Candidates must be approachable and friendly at all times to guests and maintain a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere in the restaurants, be proficient at all service styles, including wine service, tray and table service, whilst maintaining the highest levels of personal presentation and hygiene. Applicants must also be confident and capable to relate to all types of guests and able to meet sales and service targets whenever possible.

Chefs: You should have a professional qualification or equivalent relevant experience in a professional kitchen. You must be happy to support other chefs within the kitchen.

Receptionists: You will be responsible for providing a welcoming, positive and efficient reception for all hotel guests and to be responsible for the finance & administration of the hotel. You must have previous experience in a similar role, be comfortable with a number of computer programmes and have competent cash handling skills. A second language is preferred.

Beauty Therapists: As a Beauty Therapist on our Beachplus programme you will need to be trained to NVQ level 3, CIDESCO or CIBTAC, with some work experience in the industry. Previous experience in a Spa Hotel environment would also be advantageous. We are looking for employees who have a warm and genuine personality who really care about delivering only the highest customer care levels.
