Summer Resort Work Experiences

Fiona from the UK worked as a Snorkeling Instructor in Spain for TJM Travel

I worked as part of the beach team as a water sports instructor. In the mornings we would all set the beach up for the days activities and the activities would run from 2hours - 8 hours a day. As a snorkel instructor I taught the kids how to snorkel then took them snorkelling round coves and the beach.

I gained experience in working with children and as a team.

The most enjoyable part was taking the kids snorkeling in the coves was amazing fun and the nightlife afterwork was great. The least enjoyable is the long hours and little pay.

I would recommend this job to others, I had an amazing time, it was a great experience and I met loads of people that I am still and will always stay in touch with.

Day to day tasks involved teaching the guests to snorkel,windsurf, watersport and Landsports, dancing in the evening shows and games and getting the guests involved.

I got alot of satisfaction of seeing the guests happy to do well at what sport they wanted to try. Was interesting to learn about the different cultures. Gave me joy when I brought joy to others.

The most enjoyable part was teaching 40 different cultures to enjoy sports and my performances at night, making alot of friends and trying new sports
