Spanish Classes And Volunteer Programs In Ecuador
Spanish Classes In Quito Ecuador
We believe in a personal approach to the development of the Spanish course for each individual student according to their level of Spanish and their needs. To this end, you will have to take a Spanish test at the beginning of the course to determine your level of Spanish and we ask your if you have any specific requests or a specific reason why you are taking the course. After determining the above mentioned, our teachers will develop your own specific Spanish course that you will follow. Also we provide you with everything you need to follow our Spanish course: a notebook, a grammar book and a folder to keep your notes in.
All our teachers have years of experience teaching Spanish as a foreign language to students from all over the world. Also we use different didactic materials to complement our Spanish classes, such as: newspaper articles, videos, audio material and games. The duration of your Spanish course depends on the goals you would like to achieve and the time you have. After 4 weeks of Spanish classes you can manage yourself quite well for the rest of your travels through South America.

If you are interested in learning the Spanish language and contribute a bit to the country, you could opt for a combination package including 4 weeks of Spanish classes and 4 weeks of volunteer work.

El Oriente
El Oriente means ´the East´, in this case the jungle of Ecuador. The project where you are going to work is divided over two communities: Puni-Rumiyacu Community and Campo Cocha, nearby the jungle town of Tena. It’s a 5 hours drive from Quito. To get to Puni Rumiyacu you'll have to walk for 2 hours. In Puni-Rumiyacu live 15 families and there is a primary school with about 22 children in the age of 6 -13. Campo Cocha is at about 1 hour from Tena. There live about 40 families and there is a school as well with 60 children in the age between 6 and 13 years old. The climate is hot! (24ºC till 36ºC, with a high humidity). The families speak Spanish and Quichua, the native-Indian language.
Santa Barbara
This project is located in the jungle about 1, 5 hours in canoe from the jungle town Misahuallí (7 hours drive from Quito). Santa Barbara is a community of indigenous people, this is the community where you will be working. Close to the community is a basis but nice jungle camp, called Ecoselva. There is one big hut where you will sleep on a mattress, covered by a mosquito net on a platform without walls!
Establo de Tomás
Southeast of Quito you can find the jungle city of Tena. Situated 4 kilometers away from Tena is El Establo de Tomás, a jungle lodge run by Ecuadorian people. Around the Establo (which means ´stable´) you can find a few small houses, which make the village of Lupi. Around Lupi there are a few villages like Muyuna, Tazajacu and Atacapi. In those villages you will be working as a volunteer. You can help the communities and the schools. Be aware that it can sometimes be very quiet at Establo de Tomás and that you can be the only ‘guest’, however, it is situated in a beautiful area. You can go hiking, rafting, kayaking, horse riding and swimming.
Galapagos Islands
A unique way to get to know the world famous Galapagos Islands is by doing a month of volunteer work at one of the inhabited islands. At these islands, where Charles Darwin got part of his inspiration for the evolution theory, live many animals without fear for human beings. Sea lions, iguanas, big tortoises…..big from all over the world travel especially to Ecuador to visit this unique place on earth. And in this scenery you can help out at one of the projects on the islands San Cristobal and Santa Cruz
With all projects on the Galapagos Islands there is a minimum stay of at least 4 weeks, and with some projects even two months. The projects you can choose from also depends on the season you want to come. All schools, for example, are closed for summer holidays in February and March.
