Ardmarnoch Estate is a delightful 700 acre estate on the East side of Loch Fyne, Scotlands's largest sea loch. The Estate has nearly 3 miles of coastline with lovely views from the cottages out across Loch Fyne.

The Estate is particularly notable for its unspoilt natural environment. it contains large native oak and birch woods along the loch shore, as well as planted mixed woodland and a large Victorian aboretum which is currently being recovered, cleared and selectively replanted. The gardens, originally covering more than 10 acres are also being redeveloped and contain interesting specimen trees, flowering shrubs and roses. In the Spring an abundance of bulbs come to flower.

A young,fit,enthusiastic, keen, outdoors type is needed to work under instruction from the Estate Manager in carrying out, simple, but very important high priority jobs.

These range  from  feeding pigs, cows, chickens, pheasants and duck ponds, to helping with fence repairs, clearing fallen trees, tractor driving, clearing ditches during heavy rainfall, helping with general household maintenance and repair in the holiday cottages, chopping firewood for the main House and holiday cottages, keeping all areas around properties clean and tidy of litter and other ‘debris’. And , of course, any other jobs you are asked and expected to do.

Country life is not a 9-5 job! It is a way of life. We are looking for someone who will go that ‘extra mile’ without thinking, when necessary. Skills can be learned but a caring attitude comes from the soul. We need someone who genuinely cares for the   wellbeing  of the animals and has respect for the environment in which they live and work.

It is absolutely essential that the applicant has a clean full drivers licence.

A chainsaw certificate is also necessary as no training can be given.

We are looking for a non-smoker and no pets.

The accommodation is only suitable for a single person.

Utilities, council tax, TV licence, broadband,  firewood for wood-burning stove and some estate produce  included.
